Subject Calling Out All Black Panthers

Date Sun Oct 1 09:38:

Author Opie (brian_copes@bigfoot.com)

Sending out a request to hear from all of the Black Panthers from '93. I got an e-mail from Scotty Koons the other night and he is doing well. I run into Jim Woodhead about once a week here at Tnker and he is doing well also. I know six or seven of our classmates have gotten out of the AF and I wouldn't be surprised if a few more got out in the next couple of years. The black panthers who have punched (that I know about)are Jason Fogel, Tommy Doyle, John Napier, John Bauer, Jason Breeden, James Berscheit, Jeff Veyera, and Scott Koons. If you read this posting, let me know how you are doing and where you are at. I will try to keep tabs on where everyone is located and send a listing of e-mail addresses and phone-numbers so we can keep in touch. By the way if anyone wants to call, the home phone number is-405-794-3628 or DSN 884-5748.

Keep in touch.

Subject Almost finished with my tours....

Author Jeff Veyera (teflon93@cox.net)

...only about 60 left from the camping trip.

I've been out in lovely Orange County, California for about a year now; I'm the supplier quality manager for Black & Decker's Kwikset and Price Pfister businesses (locks & faucets). I travel about 30% of the time and am enjoying the hell out of this gig.

Hope all of you are well; I've unfortunately lost touch with just about everyone now that I've had enough moves, crashed hard drives, and lost PDAs between graduation and now.

My number's (949) 388-2788 if anyone's coming through the area and I'll see the rest of you at the reunion with my tour pad leathers on.

Hey fellas! Just stumbled onto this site and thought I'd say hello--and remind you that while I was a bit of a catalyst for the action resulting in those 80 tours, I wasn't the one that got us busted! I'm still in the CG, having a good time and living in the DC area. Hope all is well!!!!

I clocked in with 241 at last count. Of course, it was the 80 for Naked Fire Jumping that went down the slowest. Damn that Cliff Neve!

Hey all, I just discovered this web site, but it looks like Opie is the only other one to do so. Opie, thanks for getting the discussion going! Hopefully more will discover this site and we can keep tab on one another.

Here's the poop that I know:
First, as Opie said in his message, I am out of the AF. I got out in the summer of '98 and headed out to Princeton Theological Seminary. Yes, that's right, I am at seminary! Currently I am finishing my 3rd year of a 4 year program in which I will receive a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education. I also am planning to come back to the AF as a AF Reserve chaplain.
I recently heard from Jeff Veyera & he is now in Denver doing some internet job. Chuck Stevens is still in Alaska flying C-130s. He and his wife Stacey just had thier first baby a few months ago! Little Anna Stevens is a cuttie. Right now he is at Little Rock for C-130 instructor training. This summer my wife, Crissy, and I hope to make a trip up the AK to visit the Stevens clan.
That's about it. Hope this message board will work. I kinda feel like I am sending a message in a bottle & hoping someone will find it. God bless all & take care,
Scott (Kooner) Koons

PS I will be at McDill AFB for 8wks this summer for a chaplaincy internship. Is anyone stationed there?

Subject Hello to all!

Author Tommy Doyle (Tommy.Doyle@cobuck.ang.af.mil)

Hey all,
I was here doing some web surfing and came upon this web site. It's great to see some info on all of you. I have been pretty terrible about keeping up with everybody. I talked to Dos(Courtney) a few months ago and he was on orders with the reserves as an Air Weapons Director. Foges (Fogel) is in Ohio working at Wright-Patterson as a civilion keeping the USAF folks in line. I will see Napes in September when he comes through Colorado and will be sure to get him to update this site. I also ran into Lt Col Rogel down at Schriever AFB a few months ago.
I came off active duty in June of '98 and came straight into the Colorado Air National Guard as a full timer. I am currently Chief of Security Forces at the 137th SWS in Greeley. I live in Fort Collins with my beautifull wife Meg, who's only flaw is a lack of judgment in men, and our daughter Hattie who just turned a year old. We have another on the way in December and plan to be in Fort Collins for the long haul. If anybody is passing through and needs a place to crash, we love visitors!
All my best and God Bless,

Author Kooner (timothy.koons@ptsem.edu)

Wow, it looks like a whole bunch of us have discovered this little place on the internet ( that is all four of us). Tommy, it's great to hear from you. My wife & I are hoping to move back to Colorado next year. A quick update on me. I am still at Princeton Seminary & will finish up in MAy. After that I have no idea. My wife and I are expecting our first child in Feb. I guess I will be forced to break down & buy a minivan like the rest of you. By the way did I mention I saw Dos driving his big minivan last April? He really fit the part. I'm completely out of the AF & will not be coming back as a chaplain, but I had a great time last summer working as a 2LT in McDill as a chaplain intern. I had to go out and buy some new butter bars. That's it for now. I'm supposed to be working (writing a thesis) so I guess, I'll get back to the books. Hey, I have my own little corner on the web. You can check me out at www.tskoons.com. See you all next year at the reunion!

Author Kooner (scott@tskoons.com)

Hey Woody and all others. My family will also be moving to Colorado Springs this summer. We just had a little baby girl 3months ago and we are looking forward to getting back home. I'm graduating from Princeton this month and I am becoming a freelancer with several Christian production companies and publishers. My main projects will be working on developing the next generation of Christian educational curriculum. It's all going to be interactive and filled with various forms of multimedia. I'll update this site when we have an address and of course all are welcome anytime. See y'all in Sept.

Kooner,
Let me know what month you plan to be there, so I can look you up. Will your scott@tckoons.com address transfer, or will you have another one? In either case, I check my jameswoodhead@hotmail.com at least once a week.
I emailed Pat Thompson, and I know he and Kathy are coming to the reunion. I haven't heard from Dos and the Fogel five in a while.
Side note, I saw Col Dave Scott (AOC type) 2 days ago. He was in Osan doing something, trying to get requaled on the Viper I think. I didn't have the heart to saw, been on any good camping trips lately, but I was laughing inside the whole time I saw him.

Black Panthers,
Col Scott is alive and well. He is now my OPR reviewer or something like that up the food chain at NORAD.

I wrote to Mike S, the class scribe and we may have some updates for Black Panthers in the fall issue.

Mandi, McKenzie and I are doing well out here in CSprings. Drop a line when the opportunity presents itself.
